Public Transit Data Community has a goal to
combine all the disparate transit data feeds from the agencies around the United
State into normalized format and expose them as OData Service API to allow developers
to build any type of applications around the data.
The Microsoft Azure Cloud is the platform for this community and provides us scalability and 24/7 availability. The data is stored in a SQL Azure database.
In the first release we have the following features set:
Two new Houston,TX locations.
Our TRANSITiQ Touch Intreractive Trip Planner App was launched in two new Houston,TX locations.
Please be advise that our old service (http://transit.cloudapp.net/TransitODataService.svc/ ) will be discontinued shortly, and our new service ( http://services.commuterapi.com/TransitODataService.svc/ ) should be used for your existing and future apps.
Arlington Commuter Services will deploy 3 touch panels
After 3 months of pilot program, Arlington Commuter Services has signed one year agreement with PTDC and will deploy 10 touch panels with our trip planner application across Arlington County.
